Welcome and thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about me.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who works with adults, couples, and parents. I am originally from the Midwest and after obtaining my undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois came to Dallas for my graduate studies.  I have practiced in the DFW metroplex for over 25 years with my Allen practice opening in 1993.

As a therapist, I join with clients to help them work through depression, anxiety, stress, transitions, relationship conflict, and life changes.  Often clients benefit from learning new skills and coping strategies for managing difficult feelings, such as fear, anger, or sadness.  Some seek new ways to communicate and resolve conflict with others in their life.  Frequently, clients need help facing and understanding painful issues that block joyful living.  Whatever work is to be done, I believe forward movement comes at the client’s pace. I understand and value the importance of establishing a trusting and collaborative relationship with clients where goals and steps are developed together.  If we come to see that I am not the best person to provide your mental health services, I make every effort to find another professional to provide that care.  I am a dedicated therapist who believes the ultimate wisdom for solving problems resides within the client as answers are often found in our own experience.  Personal strengths are embraced and leveraged for positive change.  I will offer my expertise to guide clients to discover and activate the focus, inner wisdom, and courage needed to achieve desired change.
